Techno India University held its Annual Convocation Ceremony on 20th August, 2025 at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Kolkata. Dr. Sanghamitra Bandopadhyay, former Director of the Indian Statistical Institute, delivered the Convocation Speech as the Chief Guest before an audience of over 2,500 graduating students. The honorary D. Litt degree was conferred upon distinguished personalities including Hariharan Anantha Subramani, Dr. Muruganantham Arunachalam, Dr. Raghunath Anant Mashelkar, Rajeev Sethi, Shubha Mudgal, Dr. Sumantra Chattarji, Asma Khan, Aparna Sen, Prodip Chandra Sorcar, Dr. Hrishikesh Kumar, and Dr. Alok Kumar Rai. Each of the awardees has demonstrated exceptional contributions to their respective fields, serving as an inspiration to the graduating class. The ceremony was also marked by a moment of reflection, as the University paid homage to the spirit of knowledge, creativity, and service that binds together every discipline and profession. This gesture reminded the gathering that true education is not only a pursuit of excellence but also a commitment to humanity. Techno India University held its Annual Convocation Ceremony on 12th August, 2024 at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre. The 14th Hon'ble President of India, Shri. Ram Nath Kovind delivered the Convocation Speech as the Chief Guest to over 3,000 students. The honorary D. Litt degree was awarded to Shri. Shankar Mahadevan, Smt. Shabana Azmi, Shri. Leander Paes, Shri. Jogen Chowdhury, Dr. Kunal Sarkar and other personalities who have demonstrated excellence in their chosen fields. Also present were the Chiefs of the Army, Navy and Air Force whose presence helped instill the values of patriotism and discipline in the graduating students. Techno India University took the unique initiative of honouring the family of Indian soldiers who gave up their lives in the line of duty on the same dais. This homage paid to the martyrs set an appropriate solemn tone for the ceremony.
At the Annual Convocation Ceremony 2023, Techno India University proudly bestowed upon 4500+ students their Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral Degrees. The Chief Guest was Padma Vibhushan Shri N. R. Narayana Murthy who delivered the Convocation Speech which created ripples far beyond the confines of the university space, making waves in the national media. Extraordinary individuals like Padma Vibhushan Shri Ratan N. Tata, Padma Shree Kavita Krishnamurthy, Shri Sourav Ganguly, Miss Sushmita Sen, Shri Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay, Dr. Tessy Thomas and others received honorary D. Litt degrees on this auspicious day. Present on this occasion were the Army and Navy Chiefs, the Directors of IIT, NIT, ISI and other top-tier educational institutions. In a much-lauded and innovative step, the gold medalists of various streams receieved their medals on the dais from the hands of their parents and guardians. It was a memorable occasion which created memories of a lifetime for all who attended.
The Annual Convocation of Techno India University always tries to reach the historic way of execution to encourage the students and the society. This year Bharat Ratna Shri Pranab Mukherjee was the Chief Guest along with the Governor of West Bengal, Shri Kesari Nath Tripathi on the same dias with Padma Shree Bimal Roy. The Directors of IIT-Kharagpur, NIT Durgapur and Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Secretary of Department of Science and Technology (DST) were present on the dais along with the Chancellor, Co-Chancellor and Pro Vice Chancellor. Students have been awarded their degrees along with gold, silver and bronze medals. They have taken oath to utilize this achievement for the country. We are looking forward to see our India one step ahead through good education.
