Research in Earth Science

Department of Earth Sciences greets you heartily. Established as one of the major departments of the institute, since its inception in 2017, the department of Earth Sciences is involved assiduously in teaching and research. The department of Earth Sciences offers postgraduate programe in Applied Geology.
The department has six research areas namely, Sedimentology, Tectonics, Basin Evolution, Ore Geology and Geomorphology. The department has the doctoral programme in the same of
1. Sedimentation pattern in a Paleoproterozoic continental rift basin, Aravalli Supergroup of Udaipur Valley, Rajasthan, India.
2. A study on the sedimentological and geomorphological evolution of a Himalayan foothill fan system, in the interfluves of Jaldhaka-Diana rivers - with special emphasis on land use pattern, Jalpaiguri District, West Bengal, India.
3. Geomorphological evolution of the Talsari coastal area, Odisha, India.
