Department of Physics greets you heartily. Established as one of the major departments of the institute, since its inception in 2012, the Department of Physics is involved assiduously in teaching and research. With advanced laboratory, modern ICT techniques in teaching processes and excellent members of faculty, the department of Physics offers one undergraduate and postgraduate programes in Physics. In addition the Department of Physics offers courses for engineering programmes also.
The department has two major research areas namely, Material Physics and Nuclear Physics. The department has the doctoral programme in the area of Material Physics and Nuclear Physics.
A. The major research areas in Material Physics are
1. Graphene based nanomaterials
2. Polymer nanocomposites
3. Thermoelectrics materials
4. Thin films characterization and non-volatile memory applications
5. Solar Cells
6. Biochemical Sensors
B. The major research areas in Nuclear Physics include study of low energy nuclear reactions, specially the reactions important in nuclear astrophysics. We carry out both theoretical and experimental research works in collaboration with internationally renowned institute.
